For the first time, the German international fair for sports equipment and fashion Ispo Munich will take place from July, 21 to 24, 2001, with a completely new outfit and focus. A total of 1,600 exhibitors from over 40 countries will be present at 13 special fairs within the ispo exhibition site, known for its red summer sun symbol.
Hardware and fashion, to date located in separate sites, are now united in every single segment, reflecting the industry’s present trends.
Ispo has complemented its footwear, style, surf, teamsport, skate, racket, outdoor, fitness, and textiles sections by adding the new divisions bike and beachwear.
By including beachwear in the fair, the organizers have reacted to an speciality retailers initiative to give more importance and an independent appearance to one of the industry’s most important and profitable summer business segments.
Apart from sportif brands and surf labels, fitness and fashionable products, exclusive designer brands are also to be found among the exhibitors. The presently 45 registered exhibitors include brands such as Arena, Elemar, Maryan Beachwear, Aritex, Solar Fashion, Speedo, Adolf Riedl, Univers, and Venice Beach. Beachwear suppliers will present their collections on a specially designed beachwear catwalk. In terms of biking, the event will see the presentation of highly functional bikewear focusing strongly on products for women and children. Due to the increasing importance of the two segments, the former separate women’s and children’s divisions have now been integrated in all of the exhibtion halls.
In addition to shows and events related to all of Ispo’s sports segments, for the third time now, the “Ispo Games” will take place with the participation of world famous sportsmen and women, the high spot of which is the presentation of the “Nea Awards”.
